In this section, I’m supposed to tell you about how I received a BFA in Illustration or how I worked as an in-house illustrator for years before freelancing. Oh, and my name is actually Chris (he/him), and “Aynklo” was my imaginary friend as a child. Boring…
Instead, here are organizations that I support; I cycle through them with donations from each job that I complete. I figure that seeing what I care about will tell you more about me than an emo artist statement. You can click on them to learn more.
One Tree Planted Reforestation
Planting trees is a viable step towards limiting global-warming. I grew up in a small town bordering a national forest, and a lot of that time was spent just being humbled by my surroundings. Trees = life.
Oceana Save the Oceans
Personally, I’m sort of terrified of the ocean and 90% of the things in it. But I do see how important it is that we use it responsibly, and I’m happy to see the new sustainable fishing campaign on their site.
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
Please always adopt when deciding to bring a pet into your home. I had many childhood moments of witnessing animal cruelty and not being able to do anything about it so I now let rescued cats destroy my furniture while I try not to adopt more.
Healthy Gamer Foundation
HG focuses on helping gamers see why we rely on games as a coping mechanism. Dr. K’s YouTube videos opened my eyes to how gaming was negatively affecting literally every part of my life (family, work, sleep, self-image). Now, I’m proud to say that I pretty much just play occasionally to socialize with friends.
